"..those that hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will SOAR on wings as eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint" Isaiah 40:31

SOAR’s ministry includes air transportation and logistical support for ministry trips to support the Christian church in Chukotka. The Chukotka region in the Russia Far East is located where the Bering Sea meets the Arctic Ocean across from Nome, Alaska. In this cold, land of treeless tundra and no connecting road system, villages are primarily accessible by snow machines or air transportation. The population of Chukotka is a mixture of Chukchi Indians, Upik Eskimos, and European Russians. SOAR is based in Kenai, Alaska which is conveniently located for ministry to this region. SOAR staff has been conducting trips since 1991. SOAR ministry trips conduct Bible clubs and camps for youth, Bible studies for adults and teens as well as construction and repair projects. Though the ministry method may vary, all trips that SOAR flies have a “common thread” – the priority of sharing the Gospel.
The ministry of SOAR strives to be culturally sensitive, seeking to understand the “Russian mind”. Getting the “Russian” perspective has successfully built relationships, enhanced the accomplishment of basic ministry objectives and furthered the testimony of Jesus Christ. SOAR also seeks to gain the input, support and full cooperation of government officials and church leaders. SOAR operates a Piper Navajo.
