and evening campfires and protection from mosquitoes after sunset.

tennis shoes or lightweight shoes for indoors.

for modesty)

dirt

- Blow dryer, curling iron, etc. (remember plug-in type items need
to be capable of 220 volts, and will also require an adaptor available
at places like Wal-Mart, Radio Shack, etc.)
Miscellaneous items:
- Water bottle - it is recommended that you carry a water bottle with
you all the time
- Snacks
- Flashlight with batteries. The smaller the flashlight, the easier
it will be to pack and carry.
- Travel alarm clock or watch with an alarm. This should be battery
operated.
- Extra batteries for your flashlight, alarm clock, etc.
- Small quantity of laundry soap for hand washing clothing.
- Bible, journal, and writing supplies. Compact Bibles are recommended,
as they are easier to carry and take up less room in your luggage. Journals
are helpful for the lasting impact of this trip in your life.
- A few Ziploc plastic bags are handy.
- Needle and thread
- Spending money. This should all be in US dollars and clean crisp
bills. Exchange any worn currency at your bank prior to your departure.
Russian banks can be selective and will not take worn or tattered bills.
- Glasses/eyewear
- Camera and extra film
- Photos of your family, and friends to show your new Russian friends.
- Several small inexpensive gifts for your new Russian friends (hometown
gifts are nice).
- Passport, tickets, and visa (we will be bringing these with us.)
Your trip will be unduly complicated if any of these items are forgotten
or misplaced at any time.
This is a suggested list. Please add whatever you think you might need,
but pack as light as possible. It is also suggested that you carry on
enough to get along for two days, if your luggage is misplaced.
